Telecom SC produced one of the biggest upsets of the Egypt Super Cup Round of 32 with a stunning 2–1 comeback victory over Egyptian giants Al Ahly, thanks to a tactically brilliant display masterminded by head coach Aliyu Zubair.

Al Ahly took the lead in the 41st minute through Omar Kamal and looked on course to impose their dominance. However, Zubair’s side refused to be overwhelmed.

The Nigerian tactician reshaped his team after the break, tightening their defensive structure and unleashing a more purposeful attacking approach that unsettled the record champions.

His tactical switches paid off brilliantly as Mostafa Fawzy struck to level the game in the 81st minute , forcing the encounter into extra time. With the match finely poised and tension rising, Zubair’s tactical discipline again came to the fore, allowing Telecom SC to stay compact, break intelligently, and dictate crucial moments of play.

Fawzy completed his brace with a dramatic winner in the 110th minute, sealing a historic triumph and sending Telecom SC into the Round of 16.
