It was a triumphant return to Uyo for Dakkada FC on Saturday when they pipped Kano Pillars 1-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday evening thanks to Musa Bashiru’s late winner.
The win was Dakkada’s first in four games after a 5-0 loss to Plateau United, a 0-0 draw with Rangers International and a 2-1 loss at Rivers United.
Happy with the result, Dakkada’s assistant captain and playmaker Godwin Inamoto is optimistic that the win will stir the team to fight hard and finish well on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) log come the end of the season.
“I strongly believe we will do well. We are coming out stronger. We needed these three points.
“I think these three points are enough to boost us and take us to a very comfortable position before the end of the league.”
Inamoto who made an impact off the bench with his great passing and good link up play added that the team’s determination in the game helped them get the victory.
“We feel so elated because we’ve been playing about six matches away from Uyo and coming back here, honestly we were pressured to deliver. We needed to deliver to win our confidence back and win the fans back.
“When the game started, it was a difficult first half, but it was more tactical… In the second half we pounded and luckily, we had our result.”
The Chosen Ones will next Sunday face Shooting Stars in an away fixture in Ibadan.
