The Super Eagles garnered 31 points more to move into the top 3 position in Africa and closely followed by Egypt who have kept a hot chase on the team
Senegal are still number one in Africa after their AFCON triumph while Morocco are now second in Africa. Senegal also rose to the 18th position in the world
The Super Eagles won all their games at the AFCON group stages but fell to Tunisia in the round of 16 but that glitch could not stop their rise in the rankings
They were fifth before now and were ceded for the World Cup qualifiers in March because of that ranking
