We act as Solicitors to Sadiq Umar and Hon’ Bello El-Rufai (hereinafter referred to as our Client).
We have our Client’s manifest instructions to respond to an online publication in which Counsel to the widow of late Senator Ahmed Aruwa – Hajiya Umma Aruwa from the Moonlight Attorneys is reported to have debunked the purported sale of Ranchers Bees to Hon’ Bello El-Rufai and Sadiq Umar.
We would like to make it categorically clear that at no time has our Clients claimed to have bought the Football Club from any member of the late Senator Aruwa’s family including his widow Hajiya Umma Aruwa. However, our client’s bought a Nigerian National League slot and wishes to use the name Ranchers Bees FC, Kaduna for the slot in the upcoming Nigerian National League 2025/2026 season.
It is against this background that our clients are currently engaging the families of late Senator Ahmed Aruwa requesting for their permission to use the name Ranchers Bees FC, Kaduna for the purchased slot and discussions are still ongoing in order to secure the permission of the family.
We wish to further state that at no time was money exchanged between our Clients and the late Senator Ahmed Aruwa’s family including his widow Hajiya Umma Aruwa for the purchase of the Club.
It is therefore inaccurate the story being peddled around that the entire Football Club has being bought by our Clients rather it is the name that is being requested to be used for a slot purchased by our Clients and discussions are ongoing with the late Senator’s family for a formal agreement on the use of the name.
We urge members of the sporting public to desist from peddling unsubstantiated stories and always wait for official statements from our Clients.
