Jaguar FC rounded up their group matches in the 2025-2026 Nationwide League One (NLO1) campaign with a 1-0 loss to Great Achievers on Tuesday morning.
The boys had already qualified for the South-East playoffs, finishing top of the group with 16 points but the team came out in high competitive spirits and took the game to Achievers who had all to lose as they battled relegation.
There were few chances for the Umuahia-based side but Achievers saw better chances but failed to beat Ejimonu Smart who was voted the player of the match against experienced Giant Brillars.
Achievers broke the deadlock in the 45th minute when Amoa Joseph reacted quickest in the box to poke home after Smart parried a freekick and defenders could not react quickly.
Jaguar, in search of an impeccable record, made changes in midfield, with captain Ekwunife Michael, Kichime Peter and Sunday Matthew coming on to add steel and impetus to the team but Great Achievers withstood the relentless onslaught and ran away with a 1-0 victory.
Jaguar FC now turns their attention to the playoffs where they hope to seal qualification to the Nigeria National League.
