The Grassroots Sports Federation of Nigeria has named Mr. Chidozie Joshua Henry, Chairman of Jaguar FC, as the new Abia State Coordinator, effective immediately from December 1, 2025.

The appointment, described as meritorious by the federation, recognizes Henry’s proven track record as a grassroots mobilizer. His three-year tenure will focus on organizing local activities, leagues, and scouting tournaments across Abia State. Key responsibilities include promoting gender inclusion, youth development, and using sports to foster peace.

Henry will also serve as a liaison between the national body and the state office to ensure smooth execution of these duties.

In an official letter, the National President, Hon. Bassey Ekepeyong congratulated Henry and encouraged him to elevate grassroots sports in Abia to new heights.

This move is expected to boost community-level sports engagement in the state and take grassroots sports to another level. He will be inaugurated on December 20, 2025.
