Three players from Onelga Local Government of Rivers State have seen their dreams come true as they left the country to the Netherlands after the Ogba Egbema Ndoni Peace and Unity Cup sponsored by Hon. Vincent Job, DSSRS JP.

The competition which is the brainchild of Hon. Vincent has been played over three consecutive seasons. Six players were selected for the trip abroad and three have made the trip in the first batch. Onyemachi Sunday (Papa) from Omoku, Akeire Temple (Taiwo) from Egbema and Obama Darlington (Dearest) from Egbema.

The former Chairman of the Local Government has shown he is a man who is interested in human capital development and his works shows.

A notable name from the Onelga region is Super Eagles safe hands, Stanley Nwabali who also got support from Hon. Vincent in his early days.

As chairman of the region, he sponsored coaches from the six zones of the local government and also assisted in the training of referees from Onelga.

During his tenure, he also showed he has the interest of Onelga youths at heart by awarding One Million Naira each to first class graduates from the local government in order to encourage excellence.

The next batch of the players will leave the country soon, bringing the number of sponsored players from the tournament to Europe to six.
