Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum held an expanded valedictory dinner for New Super Eagles coach, Finidi George.
The event brought together media professionals and executives from Aba, Umuahia and beyond. Finidi was present at the occasion with his assistant coach at Enyimba, Yemi Olanlewaju Daniel. This grand event, held at the Chaka Lounge, Panyu Hotel and Resort was to bid farewell to Finidi after his stellar job in Aba.
Journalists and friends of the media took turns to eulogize the former Ajax and Super Eagles winger. It was also an emotional moment for Finidi who spoke glowingly about the city, the club and his beautiful time at the club.
In his speech, Finidi pledged to keep in touch with the new family he found in Aba and urged all to support the club. He regretted not being able to stay on with the club till the end of the season but takes solace that he is going to a higher level.
The CEO/MD of Panyu Hotel and Resort, Shaka Dimgba Obasi presented a giant portrait to Finidi George on behalf of the sporting media.
In his speech, Yemi Olanlewaju thanked Finidi immensely for his humility, motivation and professionalism and for helping him to aim for greater heights.
Also present at the occasion were Prof. Collins Obioma, Prof of Law ABSU, Boniface Onogwu(Big Boni), the Deputy Manager of Magic FM Aba, Mr Stanley Mba, the Manager, Sun FM Igbere. Former Super Eagles player and Sporting Director of Abia Warriors, Emeka Ifejiagwa, Johnson Nwosu, Chairman Abia Angels. Hon. Toni Agbanyim (Former Councilor Aba North LGA), Chief Mbaka (CEO, Mbaka Aluminum Nig.Ltd), press men from print, TV, radio and digital media platforms and fans.
