The 2025 NPFL U19 League will spring into action this week with a mouth-watering clash between Enyimba U19 and Lobi Stars U19 at the Isiala Ngwa Stadium.

Drawn in Group B alongside Rangers U19 and Rivers United U19, the Young Elephants will be aiming to carry forward the momentum from their strong finish in the recently concluded N-Youth League. Their confident performances in that competition have raised expectations ahead of the new campaign.

Head Coach KingJoe Akuma believes his side is well prepared for the task ahead.

“We’ve had a solid pre-tournament programme. The boys have shown great discipline and determination in training,” King Joe told reporters on Monday after conducting the last training session.

“Our team spirit is high. These players have built a strong bond, and that unity is our biggest strength going into the tournament,” he added.

The coach also took time to applaud club chairman Ambassador Kanu Nwankwo, whose support he described as “fatherly and inspiring.”

“Chairman Kanu has been more than just a leader for us. He has played the role of a father to these boys—always encouraging them, checking on their welfare, and showing genuine care. That kind of love makes the players want to give their all, not just for themselves, but for him and the badge they represent,” King Joe said.

Enyimba U19 will be eager to start their campaign on a winning note, knowing that victory over Lobi Stars could set the tone for a successful group stage. With a blend of youthful energy, tactical discipline, and strong leadership, the Aba-based side will look to send a clear message to their Group B rivals.

Kick-off at the Isiala Ngwa Stadium is scheduled for 9:00 AM.
