The semi-final phase of the 14th edition of the Gold Cup pre-season tournament kicks off with two blockbuster matchups today (Wednesday) at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
New kids on the block, the Nationwide League One side, and table toppers Grassrunners FC will take on Sunshine Stars for a place in the final at 10am.
De Rice Boys, who deserved their place in the final four, will hope to contain the attacking firepower of Ikorodu City at 2PM.
Reaching the semis, Grassrunners FC became the only team to go unbeaten, recording four wins, a draw, scoring eight goals, and conceding two goals. They humbled Dokkal Khairu 3-1 in their final league phase fixture.
Ikorodu City find themselves in the mix despite a back-to-back losses for the Oga Boys to Abakaliki FC and Doma United.
