Head Coach, Samuel Okoro has handed invitations to veteran defender, Frank Okoye (Orangeman), sleek midfielder Tony Ademodi and 24 other players for the much-anticipated friendly game with members of the Abia State Referees Council.
This is the first of a series of games by the Aba Sports Journalists (ASJ) as part of their off-season activities, geared towards getting refreshed after a pulsating regular season, culminating into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Team Manager, Bethel Kalu has extended formal invitations to the players and has the commitment of the “ballers” who are all in good shape.
The referees, led by the gangling Ezichi Kalu would be in for a thrilling contest when both sides clash in what is the battle of the whistlers and the analysts.
“Spiderman” goalkeeper, the flamboyant Ifeanyi Godwin is favoured to start, while young defender, Emmanuel Joseph would be looking forward to his second game for the side. Kingsley Nwoke, Bright Ikechukwu, Chuks Onyebuchi and Chinatu John will be in line for their debut.
The daring Agu Kalu Okemini (Bros Tata) returns to the attack alongside top marksman, Ikpeazu Benefit and James Chizzy (Oga Momo) as ASJ will take the battle to their opponents with zest.
The match will be played at the iconic Enyimba Stadium on Monday, 22nd June 2026. Kickoff time is 10am.
