Akwa Ibom’s newest football entity, Heaven’s Race Football Academy will begin open screening for talented players to fill various positions from Monday, August 19 to Wednesday, August 22, 2024 at the Use Offot Primary School Football Field, Nwaniba Road, Uyo.
Set to span three days, kick-off is 8am daily at the venue.
According to the Chairman of Heaven’s Race Football Academy, ONOWU-Chukwu Mark Onyeani, screening is for players between the ages of 17 and 25.
Speaking ahead of the program, Onyeani says:
“We want to bring something new to Uyo and Akwa Ibom.
“We are building a formidable team that will compete with the top teams in Nigeria.”
On the opportunities for players who will be integrated into the team after the screening, Onyeani adds:
“Heaven’s Race Football Academy is an ambitious side and we are putting everything on the table to achieve that. We have partners in Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi), Italy and many more, and we are determined to make a statement in the coming months and years.”
With former Dakkada FC head coach, Umar Danlami in charge, the exercise is aimed at discovering young talents and giving them the right platform to excel both locally and internationally.
