A Nigerian Doctor on Twitter has reacted to the story of a Nigerian lady arrested for buying contraceptive. The famous @ourfavouriteonlinedoc said postinor is not a crime is it is not used for abortion

Contraception and abortion are NOT the same thing. Preventing a pregnancy from happening (which is contraception) is NOT the same as terminating an already existing pregnancy (which is abortion).
There are 2types of contraception:
Emergency contraception;
Routine contraception.
But both types of contraception serve the same purpose- PREVENTION of pregnancy. NOT abortion or the termination of a pregnancy.
Postinor is a form of emergency contraception. That’s what it is.
Contraception refers to pregnancy prevention. Abortion refers to pregnancy termination.
Abortion and contraception are NOT the same thing. This is simple common sense.
Medications/methods to prevent pregnancy are NOT the same as methods/medications to terminate pregnancy.”
