It is no doubt that there is an agenda from the Kwara Sports Commission led by the Executive Chairman Mallam Bolakale Magaji to dethrone Kunbi Titiloye as the Chairman of Kwara United.

What are the positive motives to changing a tried and tested team? The good people of Kwara State and fans of the club would like to know the motive behind this move and how the club’s finances will fare under this purported new administration.

Did the Executive Chairman of the Kwara Sports Commission, plot the fall of Kwara United just to prove a point to the Governor? thankfully the Kunbi Titiloye led board and the Kwara Football Association Chairman Idris Musa Abdullahi Thuraya did all in their capacity to ensure that the club escaped relegation.

It is the opinion around the football circle that the Sports Commission boss was directly involved in the struggle of Kwara United last season after he allegedly advised the Executive Governor of the state Mallam Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman not to release money to prosecute the league matches. That had better not be true.

A season where the club would not be playing at home due to the re-grassing of the Kwara State Complex Stadium. Yet no money was released by the State Government no thanks to a very unprofessional advice from the Commission Chairman.

Kunbi Titiloye worked tirelessly to ensure money was made available from his purse to prosecute the 2022/2023 NPFL season.

Kunbi Titiloye despite being the least paid NPFL club Chairman in the country has passionately worked and ensured that the club compete at the highest level of Nigeria football, finishing fourth on the league log on two occasions.

He successfully returned the club to the continent 16 years after they qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup after they finished fourth on the log with the Federation Cup final not played the club was handed the ticket of representing the country.

Kunbi Titiloye under his reign took Kwara United from relegation battlers to becoming one of the top teams in the country.

Should Kunbi Titiloye be removed as the Chairman of Kwara United and handed under the care of Bola Magaji, I fear it could be the end of Kwara United because they may not only be relegated to the NNL, the club might end up swimming in the waters of NLO.

At this point, it is pertinent to question the intention of the Sports Commission boss.

Who wants progress yet changes a winning team at a critical stage?
