Cyril Shedrack scored inside ten minutes as Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia secured a vital point on the road, to hold Dakkada FC to a 1-1 draw, on Friday in a Southern Conference A matchday 15 clash.
The encounter which was played at the Uyo Township Stadium saw the Comets Boys go ahead in the game from a brilliant close strike by midfielder, Shedrack, who slotted home by beating off Dakkada FC goalkeeper.
In the second half, Abia Comets went close to doubling their lead, after forward Wadulu Doukumo’s close strike was saved by the host goalkeeper in the 65th minute.
Before that, the hosts were awarded a penalty by the centre referee to level the scoreline 1-1 in the 75th minute, as the Comets Boys picked a vital point against Dakkada FC in Uyo.
With the draw, Abia Comets FC moves their tally to 19 points from 15 games and are in the sixth position in the Southern Conference A standings.
Abia Comets FC will play host to Crown FC next weekend, in a matchday 16 encounter at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba
