The much analyzed and anticipated clash between Rivers Angels and Sunshine Queens Fc is here.
This time not in Lafia nor Lagos but the coal city, Enugu.
A club established in 1985, Rivers Angels are favourite to win on paper going by antecedents but pundits would say an aiteo cup clash is difficult to predict until the blast of the final whistle.

On the 3rd of October to be precised at this stage of the Aiteo cup, Rivers Angels defeated Sunshine Queens 2-0 at the Lafia City stadium thus qualifying for the semi finals and lifting the trophy record 7th
Yetunde Adeboyejo and Alice Ogebe were the goal scorers.
But January this year perhaps it was a revenge, at the super 4 playoffs in Lagos Sunshine Queens defeated Rivers angels 1-0 to end Rivers’ chances of making it a double, sunshine Queens emerged third best team in the country following the victory.
Fans of both clubs especially those who have a retentive memory will never forget a semi final clash in 2016 that ended 2-1 in favor of the pride of Rivers.
This weekend’s encounter is expected to be thrilling following the buildup to this stage of the competition.
Both teams qualified for this stage following victories against Adamawa Queens and FC Robo respectively.
Coach Edwin Okon who rued missed chances when both sides met in Lagos in January will surd field a formidable side against the ondo state sponsored side to earn a victory while Sunshine Queens tactician wemimo Mathew will be eyeing a repeat of the January feat.
It would be recalled that in 2015 Sunshine Queens won the competition for the first time in the club’s history, also becoming the first football team in Ondo state to win an elite competitive laurel since the creation of Ondo state, same year Rivers Angels were knocked out it the Semis of the competition for the first time.
Sunshine Queens are eying a second Aiteo cup trophy while Rivers set sights on the trophy for the 9th time.
Rivers Angels, Formally known as Larry Angels was established in 1986 by prince Lawrence Ezeh A native of Imo state .
But in 1991 the government of Rivers took control of the club through its first lady , Mrs Abbe.
The team won the first ever female football event at the national sports festival held in Lagos in 1989.
Hear coach of Sunshine Queens wemimo Mathew who spoke with newsmen ahead of the clash said her girls are ready to give their best and get the desired result.

Rivers Angels defender Tobiloba Olanrewaju said the better side will sure win.
” We all know the importance of the match, we are well determined and focused and I’m sure the better side will smile at the end of the tie”
Sunshine Queens will be relying on the skills and attacking prowess of their new recruits, the form and experience veteran Goalkeeper Elizabeth Johnson whose heroics in the round or 16 tie against Fc Robo gave sunshine queens the quarter final ticket.
