CHAN Eagles defender, Leonard Ngenge has apologized to Nigerians for his contributions in the team’s 4-0 loss to Sudan on Tuesday.

Ngenge, who many quickly spotted for his technicality and potential as early as the first game against Senegal said he was sorry for the role he inadvertently played in Nigeria conceding goals at the tournament.

Ngenge posted on his X handle with an apology emoji and the Nigerian flag on Wednesday.

Fans who saw his message encouraged him to cheer up as it is one of the mistakes which can happen in football. The towering defender reflexively headed the ball into his own net despite having a good game before then.

Ngenge moved from Ikorodu City to Remo Stars for the new season and is expected to get a starting shirt in Daniel Ogunmodede’s team after impressing with the Oga Boys last season.
