When Enyimba FC unveiled Finidi George as their manager, the stage was set for some unanswered questions and high expectations. The fans of the club were excited with expectations as they awaited what the former Super Eagles winger would do at the helm.

Almost three years have passed by and Finidi has answered some of the questions in the hearts of fans and even more. He has now become a star in the league.

Wherever he goes, the fans, irrespective of affiliation, always want to see the man who many of them saw play football and for the younger generation, the man whom their fathers told them about.

Hence, he is a spectacle. His calm nature, his smile and his endearing demeanor makes fans feel free to come for a selfie.

After the game between Sunshine Stars and Enyimba on Sunday, the fans of the home side jostled to take selfies with him in Akure.

As coach of Enyimba, he has given fans the chance to see the legendary Finito whenever he goes for away games.

This same scenario plays out in various NPFL venues as a selfie with a legend of the Super Eagles is golden.

In his second season, he brought Enyimba a 9th Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title and in his third season as an NPFL manager, he is in contention to retain the title.

He was part of the technical crew which took the Super Eagles to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in February 2024 and has earned his place as a coach in the Super Eagles technical crew.

In a time where rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana mattered to many young Nigerians, Finidi led the Super Eagles to a victory against the Black Stars in a friendly, spicing it with scintillating football.

His stay in the NPFL has largely been appreciated, even in the national team. He will be in three more away venues before the league ends–Enugu, Umuahia, Lagos. The fans in those cities would gladly stand by for a selfie with the NPFL star, a thrilling spectacle
