The Abia State Government, through the Board of Internal Revenue and Bemssoft Hub Ltd have automated the process of getting tickets to watch Enyimba and Abia Warriors home games.
This the Government says is to make life easy and to automate the IGR process, not just for sports but for other IGR windows.
The Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) is in partnership with Bemssoft Hub Ltd to achieve this. The GMD of Bemssoft Hub Ltd, Dr Pastra Etie explains how this will be possible through the Smartairs application on Https://payabia.smartairs.tax/sport
“The whole thing is about making life easy, that is the bottom line. One of the things that we looked at was how it can be easier for individuals who come to watch matches to be able to do this conveniently.
“Abians anywhere they are can open their phones, click on this portal and see all the home game fixtures of Abia Warriors and Enyimba.
“Whole idea is to announce to Abians that now they don’t need to come to the stadium and hustle to gain access. That is not 21st century model. Just go to this portal from anywhere, log in, buy your tickets and the whole process takes less than 60 seconds,” said Dr Etie.
He said with this process, fans can buy multiple tickets online from the comfort of their homes and will receive the e-ticket through SMS.
“You purchase the ticket and get an authentication SMS. On the day of the match, walk in yourself or with your family, present the SMS which is the e-ticket and someone at the gate will grant you access.
“You can buy your VIP tickets, you can also gift a ticket by buying for friends and family and they will get the e-ticket on their phones,” he said.
He said the organization will also provide other incentives for fans soon including prizes and halftime performances.
The portal is always open and the payment methods are multiple as fans can pay with transfers or USSD. There will be agent corners with terminals which will also be available around the stadium for those who are not able to purchase online, to meet the agents who will print tickets for them in real time.
He acknowledged the challenges faced when Enyimba hosted Nasarawa United in Aba on Sunday and promised that more terminals will be provided to make the process easier. He urged the fans to come out and support their clubs as the company has learnt from the game and has improved their services.
