Players of Abia Angels football club of Aba underwent a very strenuous training session today morning at the club training ground in continuation of preparation for the upcoming 2019 NWPL season.
Desspite the rainy weather conditions , the girls were active in training and looked confident for the task ahead. In a chat with the Assistant coach of the team, Emmanuel Dickson, he was optimistic of the challenges ahead: “We are set for the new season and preparations are in top gear for the coming season, all the players are working hard towards achieving our aim for the season.” http://www.bellsnews.com/sports/nwpl-2019-abia-angels-in-top-shape-to-conquer/
The coach who spoke to the media officer of the team after their training session also spoke about the preparations of the team for the new soccer season: “We recruited new players for the season and played series of friendly matches to keep the players in shape and blend with other members of the team to strike a good balance to make a formidable team.”
Abia Angels football club of Aba, lost out of the women version of the Aiteo Cup when they lost 2-1 to Ibom Angels football club of Uyo, at the Abakiliki city stadium days ago in the Round of 16 and Coach Emmanuel Dickson commends the girls for putting up a good fight: “We played a very good side and we gave a good account of ourselves, we have put that defeat behind us and are already working towards the next challenge.” Abia Angels football club of Aba will compete in Group D of the 2019 NWPL with Ibom Angels, Confluence Queens, Invincible Angels and Abia Angels of Aba.
